Over time your interests, career plans, finance and relationships may change. These changes can make you question your current choice of study. Consider your options carefully with these helpful tips:

I want to change course

Discuss your plans with your college’s international student support officer. They may help you transfer to another course or change your course electives.

What are the costs?

  • Check total costs of enrolment in a new course
  • Find out application fees, tuition fees, books and equipment, assessment and reassessment fees.

I want to change college

Have you been told that it is cheaper or easier to study elsewhere?
Stop and think. You have a right to high quality training.

  • Talk to your current college’s student support officer before you make a decision
  • Check your Written Agreement with your current college
  • What are your obligations when you transfer?
  • Visit the new college, meet staff, see the facilities and understand where it is located
  • Get a copy of the new college’s enrolment agreement or contract

Did you know Education Agents take fees of up to 40% from colleges for students transferring in Victoria? Agents can gain financially if you transfer to a new college. If someone offers you money or other gifts to change college, they may not be acting in your best interests.
