University, TAFE & Private Training College Dates 2010
The academic year starts in February.
Semester dates vary between institutions, and some institutions have courses starting every month. Most TAFE, university and college websites have online calendars with details of enrolment dates, orientation programs, semester breaks, exams, and when results become available.
Some institutions also have Census dates, which usually start before the academic year. These are the deadlines for changes to your enrolment (for example, changing the subjects you want to study), and course payments.
If you do not officially withdraw from a course by the census date, you may still be liable to pay fees, even if you do not attend classes. If you have not paid your fees by this date, your institution may cancel your enrolment.
Generally speaking, Semester 1 runs from February to June, and Semester 2 runs from July to November.

- At start of daylight saving period, move clock forward one hour at 2 am.
- At end of daylight saving period, move clock back one hour at 3 am.
Victoria's period of daylight saving will end on Sunday 4 April 2010. At 3am move clocks backward one hour to 2am.
Victoria's period of daylight saving will start again at 2am on Sunday 3 October 2010. At 2am, move clocks forward one hour to 3am.
Victoria's period of daylight saving will end on Sunday 3 April 2011. At 3am move clocks backward one hour to 2am.
