Disability and Access

Whether catching a train, a bus or a taxi, or visiting stadiums, shopping malls and government buildings, students who live with a disability will find a great deal of support across Melbourne and Victoria.

All buildings that service the public are required to have disabled access, and restroom facilities that cater towards those with limited mobility. Students will find they have good access to parking, public restrooms, public transport, as well as shopping malls, entertainment precincts and sporting arenas.

Visit the website of the Disability Services Division for details on state government policy, services and programmes.

Getting around

Whatever your level of mobility, there are public and discounted private services that cater to your transport needs.

There are disabled parking spaces located close to the entrance of all public buildings, ramps and lifts at all railway stations and taxis equipped to transport wheelchairs.

Find plenty of additional information here on disabled access to public transport, parking permits and taxis.
