Study Tours
Study tours for secondary and tertiary students combine educational programs with activities to show you different aspects of living in Victoria. You'll also make contacts that will be useful if you decide to return for a longer period of study.
Victoria's schools, vocational training institutions and universities run these programs. For information on study tours at a Victorian Government school, go to the Government Schools International Education website.
Universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutes have information about short-term study tours on their websites.
Visas
You will need a visa to study in Australia. For short study tours and courses (less than 12 weeks), you may need to apply for a Visitor Visa or Working Holiday Visa.
If your study tour has been organised through a registered education agent, they may handle your visa application as well. You will still need travel or private medical insurance on these visas.
If you intend to study for 12 weeks or more, you must apply for a Student visa. You can apply for your Student visa after you receive a 'letter of offer' or electronic Confirmation of Enrolment - 'CoE' - for your full-time course of study.
Use the Australian Government's Visa Wizard to find which visa type applies to you.
For advice on how to apply for your visa, contact the Australian Government's Department of Immigration and Citizenship office near you.

Exchange Programs
Student exchange programs are available for international students who are studying in Victoria and students overseas whose education provider has an exchange partnership with a Victorian institution. Find out about international student exchange programs in Victoria.
