The Academic Year
Australia’s academic year for tertiary level study runs from February to December, with applications for many tertiary courses closing the previous October. For international students, a level of proficiency in English is a prerequisite to enter mainstream institutions. A number of tertiary institutions offer mid-year intakes for particular courses, while English language courses have more frequent student intakes. If you intend to study in Victoria, there are a number of tertiary institutions offering curricula to promote a higher level of internationalism within their campuses.
