More than 370 international students received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, with tickets from Study Melbourne.
Our winners enjoyed a magical experience watching T20 games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Kardinia Park Stadium in Geelong.
Winner Spotlight #1: Ankit
Ankit is a PhD student at Monash University in Melbourne, one of the highest ranked universities in the world.
Ankit had two dreams in life. The first was to go to the MCG. His second was to see India v Pakistan live.
Within just two weeks of arriving in Melbourne, he got to do both.
Winner Spotlight #2: Sunny
Sarbjeet Singh (Sunny) was another lucky international student to win a double pass to the T20, but his experience was a little different.
Sunny was one of five Study Geelong Ambassadors who were flag bearers at two ICC matches, Sri Lanka vs. Namibia and UAE vs. Netherlands.
Sunny took a guided tour of the huge Kardinia Park grounds in Geelong and was able to get right up and close to the players.
Cricket has always had a special place in my heart and when I was offered the role of flag bearer I got really excited and I readily agreed.
When Sunny decided to study in Geelong, he never imagined it would lead to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“My experience being a flag bearer has been so great. When I stepped on the field holding the flag, I literally got goosebumps—I was actually standing next to the players!”
