Studying in regional Victoria

Studying in regional Victoria offers many benefits for international students who want to study in Australia. Victoria’s regions are diverse and unique. International students who choose to study in regional locations benefit from a welcoming and friendly community, strong connections between education providers and industry, high-quality education, training and research opportunities, and a relaxed and affordable lifestyle.

As a result of the academic, social and cultural connections gained through living and studying in a regional area, students have a competitive advantage upon graduation. International students who graduate from a regional campus may also be able to receive post-study work rights.

Rural and regional Victoria is home to some of the best education providers in the state, with many of Victoria’s top universities, TAFEs and colleges having regional campuses.

Universities in Victoria’s regional cities offer internationally recognised qualifications, with research in many disciplines is rated at above or well above world standard in the Excellence in Research Australia rankings.
