The Study Melbourne Career Catalyst career development event series provides you with the opportunity to gain insights, support and guidance network and foster your own relationships and community here in Victoria.

The in-person series will be hosted regularly from the Study Melbourne Hub or similar location, providing a convenient and comfortable environment for international students to come together and have fun while learning and connecting through activations, activities and with guest speakers.

The Study Melbourne Career Catalyst employability webinars and online workshops series provides you with the insights, practical tools and tips you need to best prepare you for securing roles and commencing your career.

Employability skills are the essential transferable skills and personal attributes you need to enter, operate and thrive in the world of work. They provide you with the tools to solve problems, work well with others and fit into any workplace.

Career Development Services (Online)

Entering the job market as a new graduate could be a daunting process, particularly in a new country. Where can I search for jobs? Do I need to freshen up my resume? How do I prepare for an interview?

The Career Catalyst’s career development services are designed to support you on your journey, from searching for jobs and preparing your application to networking with potential employers and getting ready for your first interview. All current international students and alumni who have graduated in the last five years are eligible to use this complimentary service. Each student or alumnus can register for 2 x 30 min sessions per calendar year, by the following schedule:

• Mondays 3pm– 5pm: Resume Checking
• Wednesdays 3pm- 5pm: Interview Preparations

The staff are experienced in providing expert career, resume and employability guidance to international students and graduates. Your one-on-one career coaching session will focus on the employability areas where you feel you need the most guidance. You will also be linked to other Study Melbourne’s employability events and services to give you the best chance to enter the workforce.

Premium networking events (In-person)

The Study Melbourne Career Catalyst premium networking event series will see you coming together biannually with fellow international students, business leaders and industry professionals. This special event series provides you with the opportunity to connect with key leaders in Victorian businesses and industry professionals with expertise in areas of your interest, as well as hear from impressive speakers and keynote presenters on topics that impact you and your career.

The series is an opportunity to celebrate the value and impact international students bring to Melbourne and shine a light on the opportunities that exist within the Victorian business sector for students and businesses alike. Students from all disciplines can form meaningful connections with their peers and industry partners.
