The Rainbow International Student Network (RISN) is a social group for LGBTQ international students.  RISN aims to:

  • provide support and a safe social environment for LGBTQ international students in Victoria to explore their sexuality through our events and workshops
  • foster strong friendship between our international students and the local LGBTQ
  • assist our members with queries about sexuality, coming out and sexual health by directing them to professional LGBTQ  friendly services
  • represent and provide a platform for our members to speak up about their needs and issues with regards to sexuality.

The next RIS'N at the Study Melbourne Student Centre is on Friday 23 June. At the event you'll hear speakers who will talk about the gay male social scene, lesbian scene and venues, and trans-friendly social venues.  There will also be information from the Victorian Aids Council (VAC).

Past and current international students will also be sharing their own knowledge and experience of exploring the Melbourne LGBTQ scene.

This is an excellent opportunity to find out answers to questions that you've been curious about or always wanted to know- but don't know who to ask!!!

LGBTQ local students are most welcome to attend as well.
