ASEAN Leadership Initiative

ASEAN Youth Organisation (AYO)

The ASEAN Leadership Initiative is an annual event gathering leaders from ASEAN Student Organisations to forge partnerships, build understanding and a pathway for future collaborations. This event aligns with ASEAN's motto of "One Vision, One Identity, One Community".

ASEAN Youth Summit 2018

ASEAN Youth Organisation (AYO)

The Australia-ASEAN Youth Summit 2018 is an annual event which gathers youths from ASEAN Student Organisations and the general public. By providing an opportunity to network, the summit promotes friendship and fosters a sense of belonging among the ASEAN community.

Act of Translation Reaches Out

Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS)

Building on the initial success of the City of Melbourne's "She'll Be Right" play, AFIS will expand its reach into regional Victoria as well as TAFEs. Students involved in "She'll Be Right" will reconvene under the direction of artistic director Catherine Simmonds to adapt, rehearse and perform the show.

AFIS Leadership Program

Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS)

AFIS will deliver a leadership program to support the current AFIS committee. The project comprises three main events: an interactive workshop for AFIS alumni; a workshop on leadership skills, its importance and how it can be applied; and a workshop with a topic voted by the participants themselves. The program concludes with an open discussion.

CQU East Meets West Trivia Event

Campus Life Committee

Campus Life Committee is delivering a trivia event that introduces international students to each other and connects them through their teams. The event will also introduce international students to the positive and socially engaging activity of quiz night culture that exists in Victoria.

CAPS International Research Student Development Scheme

Chinese Association of Professionals and Scholars, Australia (CAPS)

CAPS will deliver a series of events to provide networking opportunities to international research students, career development workshops, and venues for table games. Through the events, research students will establish broader networks beyond than their own academic areas.

CISA Ladies Morning Tea

Council of International Students Australia (CISA)

The CISA Ladies Morning Tea will be a series of five monthly events with different topics relevant to international female student’s experience. Each morning tea will include a speaker-led information session, followed by a forum discussion by participants.

TAFE Institutes Student Leaders Program

Council of International Students Australia (CISA)

The TAFE Institutes Student Leaders Program is designed to build TAFE students’ capability in leadership, events management, digital marketing and employment skills. This project aims to equip current and future student leaders with the necessary skills to build and maintain a thriving student association, deliver targeted personal and professional development training to peers, and foster an enhanced student experience and sense of belonging.

13th Indonesian Film Festival

Indonesian Film Festival

The Indonesian Film Festival will encourage an appreciation of Indonesian culture in Australia, and raise awareness of the developing Indonesian film industry. This years festival will feature six Indonesian films that best represent this year's theme of "A Spectrum of Narratives".

Taste of Malaysia

Malaysian Students Council of Australia, Victoria (MASCA)

Taste of Malaysia’s sole objective is to provide a platform to celebrate the unique Malaysian culture and history that has melded the Malaysian society into a harmonious and multicultural nation. As a result, Taste of Malaysia will portray our local art, history, cuisines, culture, apparel and performances in the form of a bazaar to the Australian and international community.

Malaysian Games 2018

Malaysian Students Council of Australia, Victoria (MASCA)

Dubbed the largest and most exciting Malaysian sports event in Victoria, the Malaysian Games will attract hundreds of participants and supporters across Victoria. The Games provide an opportunity for participants to showcase their talent in sports, and features activities including badminton, netball, volleyball, basketball, futsal, tennis, table tennis, dodgeball as well as eGames including Counter Strike: GO, LoL and FIFA 18.

Malaysian Student Welcoming Program

Malaysian Students Council of Australia, Victoria (MASCA)

The Malaysian Student Welcoming Program will provide a smooth transition into Victorian student life for incoming Malaysian students, and increase their access to support and information services. The program consists of three main activities: the Victoria Student Survival Guide Booklet, the Meet & Greet in Summer, and a Peer Ambassador Program, including a Welcoming Party and an Appreciation Party.

Melbourne Polytechnic Mental Health First Aid

Melbourne Polytechnic International Student Association (MPISA)

Mental Health First Aid training will be offered to international students who sign up as Mental Health Ambassadors. In turn, Mental Health Ambassadors will guide new and current students in their transition to life at Melbourne Polytechnic and assist in adjustment issues; refer in-need students to appropriate services; and identify potential ideas, strategies, and programs for enhancing wellness.

MPISA Networking Party

The Melbourne Polytechnic International Student Association will deliver two networking parties in 2018. The activity aims to supports one of the association's missions of providing network building opportunities for members to expand their horizons, reach their potential and promote positive change within the community.

MPISA Volunteer & Skills Expo

Melbourne Polytechnic International Student Association (MPISA)

MPISA is organising a Volunteer and Skills Expo for all international, domestic, newly arrive migrants and refugee students. The association is organising an expo to connect their students with different community organisations through volunteering.

MUISA Sobat PPIA program

Melbourne University Indonesian Student Association (MUISA)

The program will help newly arrived students make new friends and also connect with the MUISA committee. The project will also provide newly arrived students with outings to Melbourne landmarks, including the Shrine of Remembrance and Royal Exhibition Building to help them become more familiar with the City of Melbourne.

SOV National Day Gala Dinner 2018

Singaporeans of Victoria (SOV)

The National Day Gala Dinner aims to attract 400 participants with the purpose of bringing Singaporeans together and make them feel at home away from home. Singaporeans of Victoria will create a support system for one another through a sense of patriotism and pride whilst celebrating their home country.

Graduate Student Association (GSA) International Friendship Day

University of Melbourne Graduate Student Association

"International Friendship Day" is a one-day event for postgraduate international students at the University of Melbourne and will provide new international postgraduate students with information regarding common issues and challenges. The event will showcase traditional food and drinks, a traditional clothing show, crafts exhibition, and international dance and musical performances, and will provide a welcoming and friendly environment.
