Tell us a little bit about yourself and your achievements to date

My name is Daria Li. I’m a lawyer, psychologist, social worker, family violence specialist and author. I enjoy spending my time either reading, writing or binging Netflix.

What are your goals for the future?

I dream of working for the United Nations helping to shape policy change around the world as a proud feminist and women’s right’s activist.

Why are you excited about being a Study Melbourne Student Ambassador?

Melbourne is an amazing and diverse place where all types can meet and be social. I couldn’t think of a better place to get an international perspective of the world. I am happy to be in a position to help shape fellow students in navigating a new and constantly evolving place like Melbourne.

What is your favourite place to hang out with friends in Melbourne?

The Melbourne Arts Centre is the best place to spend Friday night with your friends! It offers a diversity of audiences and a distinctly multidimensional approach to participation, education and entertainment. Grab a drink with your friend after the show alongside the Yarra river and everything is perfect.

What is the most useful advice you ever received when you faced a challenging time as an international student?

Seek help and reach out! No matter if you need legal advice, mental health support or you’re facing a challenging time, there are all kinds of professional and free supports available for international students. From your own school’s student connection to Study Melbourne, you are not alone!
