Tell us a little bit about yourself and your achievements to date

I’m a proud son of Latin America who saw in a postgraduate education in Melbourne a chance to shift my career towards a socially-driven direction. I like to think of myself as a friendly and warm person. I’m passionate about volunteering, travelling and learning about different cultures.

What are your goals for the future?

My biggest goal (and dream) is to take advantage of my multidisciplinary education and diversified professional and volunteering experiences to tailor a career pathway in Australia that is socially impactful.

Why are you excited about being a Study Melbourne Student Ambassador?

The role offers a unique opportunity to apply my experiences as a student in Australia and abroad and assist fellow international students in navigating the challenges and joys of their educational journey in Victoria.

What do you love most about living and studying in Melbourne?

I am genuinely passionate about Melbourne’s cosmopolitanism. It offers the possibility of experiencing a world of cultures, foods and languages – all in the same city. I see the chance of meeting people from different cultures and listening to their personal stories as Melbourne’s greatest gift.

What is the most useful advice you ever received when you faced a challenging time as an international student?

“Look around you.”

Realise that you are in one of the most popular destinations in the world for international students, and notice you are surrounded by people who are dealing with problems very similar to those you are facing right now. You are not alone: just look around you.
