If you have a friend who is experiencing mental health problems,  you are not alone. This is something that students often experience.

Away from friends and family, international students often turn to each other for support during difficult times.

Helping a friend can be rewarding, but if your friend needs help you might not know how to support them. While you are helping your friend, you also need to make sure you take care of yourself.

The best way to support a friend is if you have good understanding of mental health signs and symptoms. Learn how to listen and offer support with talk and companionship. Find out about the mental health services in your area. Most importantly, take care of yourself.

If you are worried about your friend, share the problem by encouraging them to talk to student support services or a doctor.
