Our Study Melbourne Ambassadors for 2021 attended two “Write to Impress” workshops led by acclaimed author and writing teacher: Claire Thomas.

The workshops gave our Ambassadors the opportunity to learn how to generate ideas, control their structure and hone their writing skills to strike a resounding chord with audiences.
Workshop facilitator, Claire Thomas, is the author of The Performance, published internationally by Hachette (ANZ), Riverhead (US), W&N (UK) and Gallimard (France). Her first novel Fugitive Blue won the Dobbie Award and was longlisted for the Miles Franklin. Claire has a PhD from the University of Melbourne, where she has taught for many years.
‘The Study Melbourne ambassadors were such an interesting and interested group of people. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.’, said Clare about the workshops and our Ambassadors.
The Ambassadors found the workshops engaging and valuable, gaining instant feedback from practical writing exercises.
Alejandra said that she was impressed by the quality of the workshop and how interactive it was. “Thanks to the useful tips and the exercises we completed, I was able to see the differences in the various writing styles and apply this knowledge to create engaging writing pieces.”, Alejandra added.
