My experience exceeded my expectations
As an international student in Victoria I was prepared to try new experiences and activities. I did some research before I came here, I read a lot of articles online, I saw many pictures of things you can do, I even made a bucket list of things to see. But when I arrived, I was so surprised that everything exceeded my expectations. That was the moment I realised this place is so unique it’s not possible to experience it through someone else’s words, photos or videos, this is something you need to experience for yourself.

Try something new!
It is safe to say Victoria has you covered. There are so many things to do and places to see, you can literally plan completely different experiences to suit your mood. I am sure everyone can find something that suits their interests here. If you are a fan of wildlife encounters? Why not visit Victoria’s zoos, wildlife sanctuaries and parks? Or perhaps you are a fan of beautiful landscapes? No problem, visit the most amazing viewing points you will ever see along the coast. Are you a fan of physical activities? No problem, try treetop adventures, horse riding and many more. These are just few examples you can experience here. I try to encourage other international students to try different things, get out of your comfort zone and make the most of your stay here as this is a life-changing opportunity and you won’t regret it.
My top places to visit
I have been in Victoria for the past two years and while I have been here, I’ve been travelling across the state, trying new things and exploring everything I can. I have visited a lot of places, but there’s still so much more to explore! Some of the most interesting things I would recommend to see or do are:

How to travel around Victoria safely
Being an international student in a place like Victoria makes you excited to travel! When you are new and eager to explore, sometimes this excitement can take over and you may forget about the many important factors for planning your travel safely. One of the most important things is to understand where you are going, what to expect there and what to do in case of an emergency. Additionally, it is crucial to assess your physical ability as some of the destinations or activities might be quite challenging. It is also recommended that you tell a friend or family member about your travel plans so that someone knows where you are going and when to expect you back.
Remember, the amazing wildlife that surrounds you everywhere you go, as magnificent as it may seem sometimes it can be dangerous so just leave it be. Always carry water and sunscreen with you no matter where you go. If you purchase a ticket for a group trip from an agent, make sure it is a genuine provider or simply ask your education provider about any trips that are organised for students from your campus. Thinking about all those factors before you travel will assure you will have a pleasant and safe experience. Happy exploring!
