Following a successful pilot program in 2016-17, Cricket Victoria has launched the International Student Academy Program in partnership with Study Melbourne, Deakin University, and Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute.

The International Student Academy program uses cricket as the vehicle for student physical and mental wellbeing. Cricket helps break down the barriers to social inclusion. As a result of this partnership, international and local students are better connected and become ambassadors for Victoria, our tertiary institutions and our sport.

Students experience:

  • An on-campus experience during Orientation Week attended by BBL clubs the Melbourne Stars or Melbourne Renegades.
  • Access to Cricket Australia accredited coaches during a 4-week introductory program aimed at supporting participants to learn the basics of the game: batting, bowling, and fielding.
  • BBL game visitation experience at the MCG, Etihad Stadium or Kardinia Park (Geelong).
  • Participation opportunity in the inaugural University/TAFE Cup.
