Study Melbourne is proud to present Empower Fest, a pop-up festival celebrating international student belonging and empowerment during Mental Health Month in October.
The festival is the first event of its kind in Australia, recognising the social and community connectedness of Victoria’s global student community.
With four empowering events held from 12 to 21 October, hosted by international student leaders and social entrepreneurs including: #StayAtHome Got Talent winner Jancent Villagen; mental health ambassador and podcaster Sharan Velauthan; Peace Lab founder Elva (Jing) Zhang; and LGBTIQ community leader Budi Sudarto.
Join Anita van Rooyen from Study Melbourne Confidence Crew and Study Melbourne Ambassadors for this special series of events to stay connected, inspired and empowered, with more events to be announced over November and December.
Study Melbourne Empower Fest 2020 is all about bringing out your best, most empowered self!
Over four events, we’ll be focusing on:
- Empowered Movement – because it’s great for your mind and body (a three-time world champion hip hop dancer sharies his moves!)
- Empowered Failure – because that’s the real f-bomb, isn’t it? (our special guest TedX speaker, multi-magazine cover star and former international student is sharing tools to help you overcome it)
- Empowered Play – because laughter really is the best medicine (our speaker is Corporate Counsel for a Melbourne-based global shipping line, former international student, founder and Masters in Applied Neuroscience student at King's College London)
- Empowered Love – because love is universal (our fabulous Empower Fest finale event is going to be something you most definitely DO NOT want to miss, hosted by a long-time advocate for personal empowerment and inclusion)
Each Empower Fest workshop is interactive, engaging and personally empowering!
