Tell us a little bit about yourself and your achievements to date

I am a second year Chinese Medicine student at Southern School of Natural Therapy. The last two years in Melbourne has brought many opportunities. I’ve been part of the student council in my university, a student representative of Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association and a member of Council of International Students Australia. Through these roles I’ve piloted many social projects within the community (such as health, yoga and wellness). Outside of these roles, I enjoy running and yoga. I ran a half marathon at the Melbourne Marathon 2018.

What are your goals for the future?

To bring health awareness to international students through this role. I wish to continue spreading the beauty of wellness through yoga and traditional medicine. I hope to write another book one day about health, run a marathon and climb Everest Base Camp.

Why are you excited about being a Study Melbourne Student Ambassador?

I believe the Ambassador role opens doors for me but more importantly, it is a gateway to showcase the wonderful opportunities as an international student in Melbourne. Melbourne is more than just the multicultural melting pot for food, creativity, fashion and tourism. It is Victoria’s best city to understand Aboriginal culture, and sustainable, environmental and wellness lifestyles.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to supporting other international students?

I am most passionate about their wellbeing. I would love to support them with settling down as a newcomer, and through their years living out of their comfort zones.

What is the most useful advice you ever received when you faced a challenging time as an international student?

If anything can go well, it will.
