Tell us a little bit about yourself and your achievements to date

I’m currently a psychology PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne. I was recently awarded the Victorian International Education Awards – Victorian Student of the Year 2019 (Internationalisation). I have worked in student services for six years and held positions at the University of New South Wales, Cancer Council Victoria and the Melbourne Business School.

What are your goals for the future?

My current goal is to work in management consulting, as it gives me the opportunity to solve real-world problems and make a difference. In the future, my goal is to work across two sectors that I am most passionate about: education and healthcare.

Why are you excited about being a Study Melbourne Student Ambassador?

I strongly believe international students have a lot to offer, and by being an advocate for them, I am able to contribute (at least in a small way) to their growth and wellbeing.

What is your advice to students who want to build their opportunities for graduate positions when they finish their course?

Two words: volunteering and networking.

Volunteer for organisations and causes that you believe in and attend events that are relevant to your future area of work. You never know who you might meet, and what opportunity might be offered to you!

What is your ultimate day or night out in Melbourne?

My ultimate day out in Melbourne is a ‘bottomless brunch’ at a cafe in St Kilda or Fitzroy (unlimited mimosa’s while you eat!), and then taking a nap inside a tent on St Kilda beach.
