Seven Victorian universities have ranked among the top 500 institutions in the world, according to the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, released Thursday.

The strong showing from Victorian universities in the rankings reflect the quality of our institutions, cementing Victoria’s reputation as an ideal destination for international students looking for a world-class education.

The University of Melbourne is the top-ranked Australian university, ranking 32nd in the world – one spot higher than its ranking in 2017. Monash University was also ranked in the top 100 globally, ranking in equal 80th place. Victoria University, La Trobe University, RMIT University, Deakin University and Swinburne University all ranked in the top 500 in the world.
