Accepting expressions of interest
The Australia India Institute in Melbourne and the Australia India Institute in Delhi are accepting expressions of interest for their next cohort of their Victoria India Internship Program. The program aims to strengthen relations between Victoria and India and connect employers with talented young Victorians via international work experiences in Indian workplace environments. As well as providing internship opportunities in India, the program also provides opportunities to intern in a Indian company in Melbourne or Victoria.
The program is supported by the Victorian Government through the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources and aims to engage students studying at Victorian education providers with meaningful professional and personal engagement with India. Undergraduate, postgraduate or recent graduates are welcome to apply.
An opportunity for domestic or international students
An opportunity for domestic or international undergraduate, postgraduate or recent graduates of Victorian tertiary education institutions to gain international work experience
Students in disciplines related to Business, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, International Relations, Journalism, Sports Management, Supply Chain Management or IT are encouraged to apply. Students from other disciplines may also submit an expression of interest for consideration.
Past interns have been placed in companies in Victoria and India, including Tourism Australia, Tech Mahindra, Zomato and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The program caters to domestic and international students who are currently studying towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at a Victorian education provider. Recent graduates of Victorian universities or other tertiary education providers are also eligible.
Candidates will be responsible for arranging their own travel, insurance, visa and accommodation costs for internships based in India.
Term of internships
Positions are located either in Melbourne or India for a minimum of six working weeks during the period between November 2017 and March 2018. Part-time equivalent positions can be negotiated with agreement from the Australia India Institute on request.
