There is no place in our community for racism or intolerance, on or off campus.In fact, it is against the law in Victoria to vilify someone because of their race or religion.

Report inappropriate behaviour to Victoria Police or the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission.

While racial intolerance is not acceptable, unfortunately it can still take place and any inappropriate behaviour should be reported.

What to do if you see racist material online

If you see racist material online, report it. Most social networking sites have policies for dealing with offensive content and allow users to report this material.

Say something. Go to the Anti-Hate website to check out messages you can post in response to 'haters' online.

What to do if you experience racism

If you experience racism the Australian Human Rights Commission can investigate and resolve complaints of race discrimination in areas including employment, education, sport, accommodation and the provision of goods and services. The complaints process is free and confidential.For more information about how to complain, go to the Complaints page on the Australian Human Rights Commission website.

A social experiment about racism

Recently a group of students tested the Australian public’s reaction to public harassment against Muslims. What they found was inspiring – almost every person interfered to stop the attacks, check out the video below.

This social experiment tested whether Muslims are not welcome in Australia. We think it proved that Australians will not tolerate racism! What do you think?
