Me & Melbourne: international student storytelling

At the 2018 Melbourne Writers Festival, Melbourne’s international students shared their stories and experiences at Me & Melbourne writing awards.

Sixteen students were shortlisted for awards across five categories: English Language Training, Vocational Education and Training, Higher Education, Visual and People’s Choice.

The awards were announced at the Me & Melbourne awards ceremony on Saturday 1 September, hosted at the Melbourne Writers Festival Hub at the iconic ACMI building in Federation Square. More than 2200 people voted in the People’s Choice Award, which went to English language student and engineer, Monica Ferreira Rocha for her story Living Overseas.
