Delivered by Schmidt Futures, the Quad Fellowship Summit brought together 100 postgraduate STEM Fellows from the Quad nations of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States to build global education, research, and innovation ties.

The Fellows experienced firsthand what makes Melbourne and Victoria a world-class destination for research and education, hearing from leading Victorian researchers, educators and industry partners on their ground-breaking work and research trends across a variety of STEM fields.

The importance of multi-disciplinary collaboration was highlighted throughout the week, with Fellows participating in workshops and panel discussions to build their skills as the next generation of global STEM leaders.

The Fellows also got a taste of Victoria’s rich cultural life, partaking in a unique First Nations immersive experience hosted by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra; taking a day trip to Healesville and the Yarra Valley where they got up close and personal with Australian wildlife; spending an evening at the Melbourne Museum; and attending an AFL game at the MCG.

Melbourne and Victoria's globally connected education, research, technology and innovation ecosystem was further showcased at the Victorian Government Industry Networking Reception held as part of the Summit on 5 June. The reception brought together companies active in the Quad nations, education and research partners, leading STEM academics, government, and diplomatic corps from the Quad nations.
