International students share their stories

At the 2017 Melbourne Writers Festival, My Place in Melbourne invited international students to share their stories and experiences at a major Victorian cultural event.

Eighteen students were shortlisted for Awards across five categories: English Language Training, Vocational Education and Training, Higher Education, Visual and People’s Choice. 

The Awards were announced at the My Place in Melbourne Awards Ceremony on Saturday, hosted at the Melbourne Writers Festival Hub at the iconic ACMI building in Federation Square. More than 2300 people voted in the People’s Choice Award, which went to Joel Jebamani Murugiah for his story, ‘Ancora Imparo’.
