Study Melbourne was thrilled to deliver the Victorian Government Education Mission to China from 5-10 November 2023. Led by the Hon John Brumby AO, Chair of Victoria's International Education Advisory Council, this high-level visit by 35 senior executives from Victorian universities, TAFEs, education peak bodies and private providers further strengthened the Victoria-China education relationship.
The week-long program with stops in Shanghai and Beijing covered the breadth and depth of Victoria’s international education sector, including engagements with China’s Ministry of Education and local education authorities, institutions, peak bodies, education agencies, international schools and industry as well as Victorian alumni and the Australian Government.
Delegates held fruitful discussions on opportunities for collaboration in transnational education, research, vocational education and training, and strengthening Victoria’s position as a destination of choice for Chinese students; gained insights into China’s international education priorities and current economic and education trends and opportunities; and showcased Victoria’s world-class education, cutting-edge research and technology ecosystem and abundant opportunities for students.
